SS Joey Hawkins Sign with Missouri State University

Ontario Blue Jays SS Joey Hawkins (2011/Whitby) has signed his National Letter of Intent with Missouri State University. Missouri State is an NCAA Division 1 school in the Missouri Valley Conference and is located in Springfield which 175 miles southwest of St. Louis. 1B Ryan Howard of the Philadelphia Phillies and former Toronto Blue Jays RHP Shaun Marcum are former Missouri State Bears. Hawkins came to the attention of the Head Coach Keith Guttin and the Missouri State staff over the last two falls as the Ontario Blue Jays have traveled to Springfield, Missouri to compete against the Bears in an NCAA International Game at Hammonds Stadium.
